Hourly MCP smooths out short-term variability and adds systematic bias. In our validation the hourly run reached R = 0.908 with 1.39 m/s RMSE and kept 78% of the measured variability. emcipy reached R = 0.985 with 0.57 m/s RMSE and about 100%. That gap is what feeds the long-term uncertainty behind your P90.
Yes. The method is written up in a technical note, with hold-out validation: the reconstruction is compared against measured data the model never saw. We'll send the note on request, so you or a lender's technical advisor can check the approach before relying on it.
emcipy rebuilds the turbulence standard deviation alongside the other variables, which gives you a long-term turbulence intensity series. That goes straight into site suitability and IEC class checks. An hourly speed-only MCP can't do that.
